Katie is a California girl at heart, although she spent most of her life in the small town of Ashland, Oregon. She graduated from Southern Oregon University with a degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Shakespearean Studies, then promptly moved to Los Angeles. Katie loves math, thanks to her parents relentless efforts to make her work harder. She also loves playing with her cat, watching Doctor Who, and going to Disneyland as often as she can.
Cesar is from Indio, California and has been with the Learn4Life organization since summer of 2017. He is a military veteran, and received his B.A. from CSU Fullerton with a major in History. He is currently enrolled in the Master’s of Arts Teaching English as a Second Language program at CSU Los Angeles. Cesar’s goal is to become an adult ESL teacher and is passionate about education. Cesar also enjoys family barbeques, watching Marvel movies and Netflix shows such as Stranger Things.
Gustavo was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. His family moved to Los Angeles when he was two years old. Gustavo graduated from California State University, Northridge with a degree in English. Gustavo enjoys helping students write their essays and writing essays himself. Gustavo also loves playing with his dogs, watching football, and exploring new places.
Miguel was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley. He graduated from California State University, Northridge with a degree in Economics. His favorite subjects encompass math, history, and Economics (shocking, right?). When he is not helping a student, he is often at the theater watching a movie.
Lacy was born and raised in Palmdale, California. Lacy graduated from California State University, Northridge with a Bachelors in Biology. Lacy also received a Masters is Medical Laboratory Sciences from Quinnipiac University. Lacy plans to attend medical school in the near future. During free time, Lacy enjoys coaching the Special Olympics and playing sports.
Priscilla was born in Northridge, California. Priscilla’s long-term goal is to receive a doctorate in Sociology and aspires to become a K -12 and higher education teacher. On her free time, she enjoys to spend time with her family, watch movies, listen to music, and go on adventures. Her favorite hobbies include soccer and dance.
Tory was born and raised in Southern California. She graduated from CSUB-AV, with a degree in Liberal Studies. She is currently enrolled in a special education teacher credential program at CSUB-AV. Tory loves spending time with her family, especially with her nieces and nephews. She also loves Harry Potter and dinosaurs.
